Material Handler I - 2nd shift

Summary:Assembles and routes jobs for the Production floor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and fills production material needs by performing the following duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Trained on picker, turret, and forklift and operate utilizing all the safety protocolsUnderstand the importance of product identification and labelingCan explain what 5S means and how it relates to their job responsibilitiesConsistently follow all safety guidelines such as wearing correct PPEFollows break/ lunch times and clocks in and out per individual's scheduleAble to accurately verify a jobPulls correct material without errors on a consistent basis in a timely mannerUnderstand how default bins are utilized in SAPUnderstand and can explain what FIFO meansCan complete a bin-to-bin transaction using handheld deviceCan complete a put away transaction using handheld deviceMust be able to take guidance from material handler 2 or higherCan count accurately on a consistent basisCan deliver material to where it needs to go in a timely mannerCan communicate issues professionally to both warehouseand productionCan look up available inventory in LS24Can safely load and unload material from shelves or palletsCan locate ISO controlled forms and work instructions on a computerCan use a handheld device for pulling ordersCan locate the Quality Policy and describe what it means to themCan help in receiving by verifying counts and matching against the packing listsCan locate item drawings in SAPOther Duties as requiredQualifications:Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be familiarized with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures for the warehouse area and performs a variety of tasks. Eager to learn more about the ERP system and performs a variety of tasks. Works under immediate supervision; reports to the Warehouse Foreman. Customer Service attitude a must.Education/Experience:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)One year experience with forklift and/or electrically powered devices and certificationOne year work experience in Warehouse and or Material HandlingMinimum level of computer knowledgeCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must be forklift certified.Must complete and pass a forklift safety program prior to performing tasks related to the warehouse.Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to speak fluent English.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers; multiply and divide by 10's and 100's.Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Accurate counting and interpretation of vendor quantity in shipmentReasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions furnished in written and oral form.Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
