Job Description MECHANIC Department: Maintenance Union: UAWPURPOSE AND SCOPE OF JOBUnder general supervision, to perform the full range of automotive and mechanical repair and maintenance tasks to a variety of gasoline and/or diesel fuel powered buses and related vehicles including maintenance of shop equipment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent, preferably with courses in general shop and automotive repairReasonable experience in repairing and rebuilding a variety of gasoline and/or diesel fuel powered vehicles or completion of an approved four-year apprenticeship in automotive repair or its equivalentPhysical strength and agilityPhysically and mentally capable of performing all the duties of the classificationEmployees in this class will be required to:Provide the tools necessary to perform the work assignedMust be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's license (CDL) with proper endorsements.SMART is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation / Age#ZR
