Brief DescriptionPosition OverviewNew Millennium Academy (NMA) seeks a highly strategic, systems-oriented, and execution-focused Director of Human Resources & Strategy to lead the school’s human capital systems while serving as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and senior leadership team.This role blends Human Resources leadership with organizational strategy and leadership development, ensuring that NMA recruits, develops, and retains exceptional staff while executing schoolwide priorities with clarity, accountability, and operational excellence.The Director of HR & Strategy supports organizational alignment, leadership effectiveness, and cross-functional execution across academics, operations, and student services.Primary Responsibilities Human Resources & Talent LeadershipLead and oversee the school’s full HR and talent function.Responsibilities Include:Lead all HR systems, policies, and employee relationsEnsure compliance with employment law and school policiesOversee onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and personnel systemsManage benefits administration and leave coordinationLead employee investigations and conflict resolution when neededMaintain and update employee handbook and HR proceduresOversee performance management and evaluation systemsPartner with leadership on staffing decisions and organizational structureSupervise HR and talent personnel and related systems Talent Recruitment & Workforce PlanningDevelop and execute a proactive staffing and talent strategy.Responsibilities Include:Lead full-cycle recruitment and hiring systemsDevelop talent pipelines and university/community partnershipsManage hiring timelines and staffing forecastsDesign and oversee interview and selection processesSupport leadership succession planningDevelop retention and employee engagement strategiesMonitor workforce trends and staffing needsBuild recruitment marketing and employer branding efforts Organizational Strategy & Leadership SupportServe as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and senior leadership team to strengthen organizational alignment and execution.Responsibilities Include:Support the Executive Director and senior leadership team in advancing organizational priorities and strategic initiativesHelp translate school vision and strategic priorities into actionable plansCoordinate execution of schoolwide initiatives across departmentsSupport leadership alignment and ensure strong follow-through on strategic prioritiesAnticipate challenges and help develop proactive solutionsFacilitate cross-functional problem-solving and organizational planningSupport organizational change management and implementation effortsAssist in aligning people, systems, and structures to organizational goalsManage high-priority projects and special initiatives assigned by the Executive Director Senior Leadership Team Development & Organizational EffectivenessSupport the effectiveness and development of NMA’s senior leadership team.Responsibilities Include:Support the development and effectiveness of the senior leadership teamCoordinate and support Executive Leadership Team meetings and retreatsDevelop agendas, planning materials, and leadership follow-up systemsHelp strengthen leadership accountability and collaboration structuresFacilitate communication and alignment across leadership teams and departmentsBuild systems for accountability and progress monitoringSupport annual goal-setting and organizational planning processesCoordinate leadership development opportunities and succession planning effortsPromote strong organizational communication and decision-making systems Strategic Planning, Data & Project ManagementLead schoolwide planning and execution systems that support continuous improvement.Responsibilities Include:Support development and implementation of multi-year strategic plansCreate project management systems for major organizational initiativesMaintain schoolwide strategic calendars and milestone trackingCoordinate planning across academics, operations, finance, enrollment, and student servicesDevelop dashboards and systems to monitor key organizational metrics and prioritiesConduct research, benchmarking, and strategic analysis to inform decision-makingPrepare executive reports, presentations, and board materials as neededLead continuous improvement and organizational design effortsManage high-impact strategic initiatives assigned by the Executive DirectorExamples May Include:Organizational Education, or related field5+ years of leadership, HR, operations, strategy, or project management experienceExperience leading complex projects and organizational systemsStrong understanding of HR practices and complianceExceptional organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and ambiguityHigh degree of discretion and professionalismPreferredMaster’s degree preferredSHRM, PHR, or related certification preferredExperience in K–12 education or charter schools strongly preferredExperience supporting executive leadership and organizational strategy
