DescriptionThe Field Services Regional Trainer plays a critical role in developing, training, and supporting DCOMM’s field technicians across Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. This position is responsible for delivering hands-on technical training, safety education, and compliance support that directly impacts quality, safety, and long-term technician success.This role bridges classroom instruction and real-world field execution. The Regional Trainer leads new hire onboarding classes, builds and delivers training programs for coax, fiber, bury drop, and safety, and partners closely with Market Managers, Operations Leaders, and in-market trainers to ensure consistent standards across regions.When not leading formal new hire classes, the Field Services Regional Trainer is embedded in the field — conducting quality inspections (QI), safety checks, uptraining newer technicians, and reinforcing best practices. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, credible field leader, and coach who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments and is passionate about developing people the right way.RequirementsYOUR ROLE IN ACTIONNew Hire Orientation & TrainingWelcome new hires into DCOMM through regional orientation classes and serve as a first point of cultural and operational connection.Lead new hire training programs (target: one week in-class) for field technicians within assigned regions.Ensure new hires understand DCOMM expectations around safety, quality, professionalism, and customer experience.Training Program Development Create, Develop, And Continuously Improve Training Curricula ForCoax installation and serviceFiber installation and serviceBury drop processesSafety and complianceMaintain training materials that reflect current field standards, customer requirements, and operational best practices.Field Training & CoordinationCoordinate field training assignments for new hires following classroom instruction.Partner with in-market trainers and supervisors to ensure technicians receive proper hands-on experience.Conduct regular check-ins with trainees and trainers to monitor progress, address gaps, and reinforce expectations.Safety Leadership & ComplianceDevelop and deliver safety training programs aligned with OSHA standards, customer requirements, and DCOMM policies.Coordinate safety meeting topics and materials for Market Managers to share during weekly technician meetings.Support safety initiatives through coaching, documentation, and corrective action recommendations.Field Audits, Quality & Uptraining Travel Regularly To Assigned Regions ToConduct quality inspections (QI) on newer techniciansPerform safety checks and field observationsProvide targeted uptraining and coachingPartner with Market Managers to address trends, deficiencies, and improvement opportunities.Cross-Functional Collaboration Work Closely WithDirector of Operations for planning, priorities, and travel approvalHiring Managers and Market Managers for onboarding alignmentOperations leadership to ensure training supports KPI and SLA performanceServe as a trusted field resource and subject matter expert across regions.All Other Duties As Assigned Support evolving training, safety, and operational needs as DCOMM continues to grow.Required ExperienceWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR5+ years of hands-on experience in broadband field services (coax, fiber, bury drop).Proven experience training, coaching, or mentoring field technicians.Strong working knowledge of safety standards, field compliance, and quality metrics.Preferred BackgroundExperience delivering formal training programs or onboarding classes.Telecommunications, broadband, or cable industry experience.Prior regional or multi-market support experience.Skills & AttributesConfident classroom and field presenter with the ability to engage diverse audiences.Credible field leader with strong technical depth.Organized and self-directed with the ability to manage travel and schedules.Strong communication skills — able to coach, correct, and motivate.Safety-first mindset with attention to detail and accountability.Comfortable working alongside Operations and enforcing standards without being “corporate.”WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL Field-Focused Role: Combination of classroom instruction, field training, and regional travel. Travel Requirements: Regular travel across Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. All travel must be approved by the Director of Operations. Schedule Flexibility: May include early mornings or extended days to align with training schedules and field activity.
