RWE Supply & Trading Americas, LLC, AustinTo start as soon as possible, full time / part time, permanentFunctional area: Commercial / TradingYour future plansAs part of Commercial Analysis Americas, you will analyze power markets and project economics to support investment and commercial decisions for solar, wind, battery, and flexible generation projects.You will work with cross-functional teams (development, trading, finance, energy marketing) to provide data-driven insights that shape project strategy and portfolio value. This role also offers exposure to global energy markets through collaboration with teams in Europe and Asia-Pacific.Responsibilities:Support investment and commercial decisions by analyzing project economics, market conditions, and key risks.Analyze U.S. power markets (e.g., ERCOT, SPP, MISO, Southeast) and develop views on prices, capacity prices, renewable energy certificates, natural gas, supply/demand, and market trends.Work with cross-functional teams to develop commercial strategies for projects, including offtake structures, auction participation, and Requests for Proposal (RfP) bids.Develop key beliefs for RWE core markets and technologies and work with internal and external price forecast teams to produce consistent and coherent outlooks.Translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.Build and maintain analytical tools and models (e.g., Python, Excel) to evaluate project value and market opportunities.Improve internal processes by enhancing data workflows, automating analysis, and applying tools such as SQL and AI.Your Powerful SkillsUnderstanding of power markets, energy systems, or renewable energy economicsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with complex datasets and extract key insightsExperience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Excel, or similar)Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholdersBeneficial but not a must:Demonstrated initiative in improving workflows, tools, or processesExperience with energy modeling, forecasting, or market analysisFamiliarity with databases, automation, or AI tools for analytical workExperience and Education:0–2 years of relevant experience (professional or academic) in energy, data analysis, engineering, economics, or a related fieldBachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (engineering, economics, mathematics, data science, or similar)Advanced degree is a plus What we value most is passion, a willingness to learn, and a determined-resilient work ethic.
