Senior Network EngineerJob Locations: US-VA-Ft. Belvoir | US-PA-New Cumberland | US-OH-Columbus | US-VA-Richmond | US-CA-TracyOverviewThe Telecommunications Network Engineer - Senior position will provide network management, network operations, and network design, upgrade and installation support for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) enterprise network, ensuring effective daily operations and troubleshooting network issues as they arise.ResponsibilitiesSupport all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysisManage the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriersDesign access and backbone networks using carrier services, and help with the analysis and design of wireless voice and data networksProvide technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations tasksProvide recommendations, if needed, for approval of major network installationsPrepare milestone status reports, and deliveries/ presentations on network progress to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representativesTroubleshoot, administer, configure, and maintain the following:Automation of configuration tasks at scale using Redhat Ansible INFOBLOX Grid ManagerCisco Wireless Controllers and access pointsNetwork sniffer technologies, NetScout InfiniStream and WiresharkNetwork Management Software, including Opentext Network Automation, Opentext Network Node ManagerCisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, dxNetOPs, dxSpectrum, Splunk and SecureCRTProvide problem diagnosis, data capture, analysis, and resolution of LAN problems on the DLA networkProvide cable/network testing analysis as needed through the use of cable testing equipment, Enterprise Sniffers, and locally installed Wireshark softwarePerform network monitoring and fault detectionMaintain network documentation to include network maps, node connections, installation diagrams, patch panel references and Cisco Prime Wireless Access Point locationsMaintain updated LAN objects and configurations within Network Management Servers (NMS) to include Opentext Network Operations ManagementMust have the ability to communicate accurate informationTechnology used: Cisco routers, Cisco switches, VLANs, inter-switch trunking, wireless access points, cabling, InfoBlox DNS, endpoint security, Operating Systems, Opentext NNMi, Cisco Catalyst Center, Axonius, Netscout Infinistream, Splunk, Network Management ServersQualificationsActive Secret Clearance7 years of network operations experience.
