Senior Transmission Engineer

A major electric utility in Arizona is growing its Transmission & Distribution Overhead Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact EHV transmission projects — including new line design, system upgrades, and large customer interconnections — at a time of record sector growth.ResponsibilitiesDesign and engineer complex overhead transmission projects from concept through construction, applying NESC and applicable industry codes.Execute capital and maintenance projects at medium and transmission voltage levels, including EHV line upgrades, new line construction, and EHV interconnections.Perform structural analysis and design of transmission structures using tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, RISA-3D, STAAD, and AutoCAD/MicroStation.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver customer-driven and grid-reliability projects on time and to specification.Minimum qualificationsEngineer III: BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited) + 5 years of engineering experience.Senior Engineer: Same degree requirement + 8 years of engineering experience.Preferred qualificationsHands-on experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, AutoCAD/MicroStation.Familiarity with RISA-3D and/or STAAD for structural analysis.Working knowledge of NESC, AISC, ACI 318, ASCE/SEI 7/10/48, EIA, ANSI, IEEE, and GO95 standards.Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; utility or consulting background a plus.
