Project Designer - West Columbia

Our projects represent the work of a collaborative group of dedicated design professionals driven by a solitary goal: to deliver a functional solution that inspire collaboration, function, imagination, constructability, and attributes of a well-constructed environmental design.We are seeking a creative, innovative and talented Project Designer to join our West Columbia, SC team!ResponsibilitiesProvide production supportReview shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIsProduce construction documents, revisions, and addendaTake responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and constructionAssist with budget managementPrepare design presentation materialsWork directly with client and/or user group to develop schematic design concepts and programming studiesProvide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projectsWrite specifications as assignedConduct code research and analysis and review with various agencies for approvalCollaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors and/or clientsAssume project manager role as necessaryPrepare project proposals, design team budget, schedule, and workforce projectionsSupervise and provide guidance regarding overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy mattersEnsure that the project meets environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standardsManage and nurture the client relationshipSupervise design team members as necessaryPerform construction administration to include facilitation of project communications, maintenance of project records, review and certification of amounts due to contractors, and preparation of change ordersSupport business development activities as necessaryPerform other duties as directedRequirementsAbout You: The qualifications of a Project Designer are multi-faceted. The ability to effectively and confidently prioritize and execute tasks with many competing priorities and absorb new ideas and concepts quickly is a key skill for the Project Designer. Here is a list of other required skills:Bachelor of Architecture or equivalentRegistered as a licensed architect preferred, but not requiredMinimum five (5) years combined experience as an intern architect and/or architectProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel softwareFamiliarity with Adobe Creative Suite softwareProficiency in RevitExperience with Newforma Project CenterExperience with Newforma Project Analyzer (Planifi)Experience with Bluebeam PDF RevuFirm grasp of building technology fundamentalsThorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trendsExcellent time management skillsAbility to effectively and confidently prioritize and execute tasks with many competing prioritiesClear verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to provide clear directionDemonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivityReady to apply?
