They will also determine test requirements, equipment modifications and test procedures, conduct tests, analyze and evaluate data, prepare reports on findings, and provide recommendations. This work is often performed outdoors in all weather conditions.Essential Job Functions - ResponsibilitiesFabrication, alteration, assembly and disassembly of prototype parts and test vehiclesPowertrain product development including hydrogen fuel cellsTroubleshooting and diagnosticsEvaluation and reporting of test results with written, photo and video documentationComplete required test activities to meet project deadlinesEducation and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)Mechanical and hydraulic skills, coupled with basic engineering knowledge.Basic understanding of DC electrical circuitsMechanic position does not require degree. Test Technician does. Proven ability working with vehicle systemsExtensive knowledge of mechanical/electrical product, and use of test proceduresGeneral understanding of engineering drawingsGood verbal and written communication skillsBasic health, environment and safety knowledge/awarenessBasic computer skills - MS Office and some CAD drafting skills preferredWork EnvironmentStandard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions.
