Fabrication & Basic Machine Operator

Stainless Piping Specialists Now Employee Owned (ESOP)Stainless Piping Specialists is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a general machine operator with fabrication duties, including training and advancement opportunities that include Laser machine operation. Join our team and work with a great talented group here at SPS! This is going to be a 2nd shift position, working 2:30pm to 1am. The chosen candidate will enjoy a 3-day weekend every weekend!Summary/Objective:The machine operator / Fabrication position safely performs cutting, grinding, laser cutting etc. for a variety of Stainless Pipe configurations.Essential Functions:Perform typical Fabrication and Cutting operationsSelect proper cutting programsEstablish proper stop location, cut condition adjustments as neededMake proper set-ups for cutting operationsPerform prescribed operator maintenance as requiredPerform dimensional inspectionsDetect and report defective materials to supervisorMay perform a variety of other tasks as production needs requireLoad equipment with raw material using the overhead crane and/or forklift in order to prepare the equipment for an accurate cut.Education and Experience:1 year of manufacturing experience1 year of fabrication and machine operation preferredBlueprint readingOrganizational skillsPhysical Demands:This position requires standing, walking, & bending throughout shift, including lift and/or move items at times that may be up to 50 pounds.Benefits:Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).Paid VacationPaid employee life insurance policy.Paid Holidays.401K Match.Offered Health, Dental, & Vision.Paid short/long-term disability insurance.First shift days.Part-Time positions are also available.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
