Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-time Shipping, you will help facilitate the movement of product throughout our distribution center. You will be responsible for organizing all outgoing orders, loading product into trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift. This is an entry-level position based out of our distribution center located at 9190 Orion Dr NE, Lacey, WA 98516. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label productInspecting product for damage and documenting discrepanciesSorting product into correct locationsStacking product efficientlyConsolidating, loading and unloading shipmentsUtilizing load truck reports to locate product for outgoing shipmentsEnsuring proper load securement for transportVerifying product is correctly labeled for easy identification and deliveryMaintaining the cleanliness and organization of work areaComplying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectationsParticipating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectivesLearning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainingsREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:18 years of age or over, due to the nature of workProficient written and oral communication skillsProficient computer skillsHighly motivated, self directed and customer service orientedDemonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgencyLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentWork independently as well as in a team environmentWillingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as neededDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworkLift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbsPass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Prior experience operating a forkliftABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
