This professional works directly with students in real-world settings to foster vocational independence, personal responsibility, and community integration. By bridging the gap between the classroom and the workforce, you will help fulfill our mission of "Everyone Learning Every Day."QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess and maintain a proper Missouri teaching certificate for Special EducationPass all background checks and screenings.REPORTS TO: Building PrincipalGENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Board Policy for Staff ConductESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and implement community-based instructional plans aligned with student IEP goals. You will translate classroom concepts into functional skills across the eight Missouri strands, specifically focusing on personal management, functional academics, and social competencies; to ensure students can navigate real-world environments independently.Proactively identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with local and area businesses. You will serve as the primary liaison to secure diverse community-based work sites, ensuring students have access to environments that match their interests and provide a pathway to competitive integrated employment.Provide direct, on-site support and shadowing for students at work locations. You will assess student performance in real-time, implement task analyses, and fade support as students gain mastery in specific vocational tasks, ensuring they are employment-ready upon graduation.Lead instructional outings that teach students to utilize community resources, including public transportation, grocery stores, and recreation facilities. This includes teaching students how to handle unscripted social interactions and problem-solving in public spaces to build confidence and autonomy.Maintain rigorous documentation of student progress toward transition goals and vocational benchmarks. You will collaborate with the Special Education team to provide data-driven insights for IEP meetings, ensuring all CBI activities meet Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) standards and safety regulations.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:9 month contract (179 days)Salary Schedule - commensurate with education and experience - base salary starts at $43,500Benefits include Board paid health insurance, paid sick leave, retirement and otherEVALUATIONS:
