This role provides timely, transparent, and actionable insights to support Earnings, Capital, and Risk Management on both a projected and actual basis.The FP&A Analyst reports to the FP&A Manager (Overland Park) and can be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas, Overland Park, Kansas, or our Des Moines, Iowa location. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.Assist with financial forecasting and planning processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of assigned deliverablesSupport preparation of recurring management reporting and actual-to-expected analysis, including running reports, researching variances, and drafting summary insights for senior leadershipCompile, analyze, and validate financial data to ensure internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of reportingDevelop ad-hoc financial analyses, capital impacts, and earnings emergence as requested by senior leadershipAssist in identifying opportunities to enhance reporting transparency, streamline processes, and improve automationPartner cross-functionally with FP&A, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Investment Accounting, Tax, and Actuarial to support integrated analysisMaintain comprehensive documentation of processes and assumptions, supporting effective governance and internal control complianceWhat We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required2-4 years of relevant internship, corporate finance, insurance, or public accounting experience preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial systems such as PeopleSoft or Hyperion is a plusAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentWillingness to learn insurance and retirement industry concepts and financial modeling techniquesWhy Choose Security Benefit?When you join our team, you’re not just getting a paycheck — you’re getting a career path full of growth opportunities, plus a robust benefits package that puts your well-being first.
