Quality Inspector - Electromechanical / Welding

Our associates are expert quality assurance professionals with broad experience and local knowledge who can represent our clients on-demand and on-site faster than our competitors.We are seeking a detail-oriented Electromechanical Inspector with some welding background to ensure the quality, compliance, and integrity of electromechanical components and assemblies. This role is responsible for performing inspections, verifying documentation, and ensuring all materials and workmanship meet applicable standards, drawings, and specifications. This position with be on site 5 days a week, for 4-8 hours a day. This is a 3-6 month contract.Key Responsibilities:Incoming inspection from external providers of products or services/processing (e.g., nickel plating) In-process and final inspection of critical features such as witness inspectionCompilation of final inspection sign-off sheet and report packagesVerification that inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects Verification that inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intentAudit and validate the execution to the inspection planProvide weekly reports of manufacturing sites ramp progress, equipment quality performance of the facility, delivery details by Data Center siteConduct periodic quality audits of the supplier’s factory, provide reports of resultsDrive closure of findings identified as non-conformanceEnsuring supplier’s quality control system document the findingsProvide customer witness for test scripts, including but not limited to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all equipment. Validate equipment is acceptable with no issues and compliance to the Level 1 commissioning process (Red/Orange tags) before shipment to the Data CenterBe the on-site support representing GoogleInspection of rivets and mechanical assemblyPerform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards, identifying weld discontinuities and verifying weld quality, profiles, and workmanshipInspect fillet, groove, CJP, and PJP welds to ensure compliance with fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and acceptance criteriaReview welding documentation including WPSs, welder qualifications, continuity records, and process compliance to ensure all inspection requirements are properly followedAbility to read diagram for wiring assemblyRequired Qualifcations:Experience inspecting electronic components / mechanical systemsProficiency in dimensional inspection of precision tolerance partsStrong knowledge and hands-on experience with all inspection toolsAbility to understand and interpret complex GD&T requirements and validate complex assembliesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical training in welding inspection preferredMinimum 3-5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferredExperience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assembliesTechnical KnowledgeStrong working knowledge of: AWS D1.1 requirementsAWS B1.11 visual inspection practicesWeld symbols and fabrication drawingsWelding processes:FCAWGMAWSMAWGTAW (preferred)Structural steel fabrication practicesWeld gauges and inspection toolsWeld discontinuities and workmanship evaluation Preferred Qualifications:8+ years experience inspecting electromechanical systemsCertified Welding Inspector (CWI)VT Level II certificationNDE certifications (MT/PT preferred)OSHA safety trainingStructural steel fabrication experienceNote: This position requires access to ITAR-controlled technical data and/or defense articles.
