Electrical Controls EngineerLocation: Onsite in Dallas, TXSalary: $90-135k DOEPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop, and commission industrial control systems for manufacturing and process facilities. The role focuses on PLC/HMI programming, VFD integration, MCC design, and networked communications (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet), while ensuring installations meet NFPA, NEC, and OSHA safety standards. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on field experience with strong engineering fundamentals to deliver reliable, code-compliant control solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and validate electrical control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for MCCs and control systems.Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens and other platforms) and develop HMIs for operator interfaces.Integrate and commission VFDs, motor controls, and associated protection schemes.Design and implement industrial communications using Profibus, Modbus, and Ethernet; ensure reliable data exchange between devices and control systems.Lead factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT); perform startup, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning at customer sites.Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including wiring diagrams, I/O lists, control narratives, and drawings.Ensure all designs and installations comply with NFPA, NEC, OSHA and company safety policies; participate in safety reviews and risk assessments.Collaborate with mechanical, process, and project management teams to sequence project activities and deliver milestones on time and on budget.Provide technical support to commissioning teams and customers, diagnose field issues, and implement corrective actions.QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience designing and commissioning industrial control systems in manufacturing or process industries.Proven experience programming Allen Bradley or Siemens for PLC and HMI programming.Hands on experience with VFDs, motor control centers (MCCs), and power distribution for industrial systems.Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Profibus, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP.Familiarity with NFPA (including NFPA 70E), NEC, and OSHA regulations and best practices for electrical safety and code compliance.Ability to read and produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control system documentation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with customers, contractors, and cross functional teams.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offPaid parental leave401k with matchFSA and HSAShort and long term disability insuranceLife InsuranceEmplyoee assistance programs
