SOF GLSS is the primary means of acquiring, designing, manufacturing and distributing SOF-peculiar equipment, globally. SOF GLSS is currently a large enterprise contract primarily based out of Bluegrass Station in Lexington, Kentucky.The Operations Senior Director manages and directs all aspects of the program’s enterprise operating in Lexington, KY. This person is responsible for leading end-to-end operational execution across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program support functions. This role ensures delivery of complex aerospace and defense systems on time, within cost, and in full compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. This is a mission-critical leadership role balancing program execution, cost control, and operational excellence in a highly regulated, high-stakes environment.MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTOversee Facility Maintenance and operations (interaction with State and Federal Government entities)Direct all supply chain management functions supporting global operationsManage warehouse operations including, but not limited to, property accountability, shipping/receiving/handling materiel, disposal of obsolete materialLead manufacturing, production, and sustainment operations across one or multiple programs including, but not limited to, aircraft (fixed, rotary wing and unmanned systems), ground systems, maritime systems, and SOF sustainment materielEnsure compliance with Department of Defense regulations and Federal Aviation Administration (for aviation programs)Lead quality systems (AS9100, ISO, etc.)Ensure security (IT and facilities)Direct IT systems operations and maintenance, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) toolsLead labor union relationsDirect all phases of the program from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of the program.Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEEDEducation: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of ScienceExperience: Minimum of 20 years of experience managing maintenance, manufacturing, logistics, property, and security on complex programs on a Government Contract. Minimum of 20 years of program control or operations management experience, specifically resource planning, cost and schedule performance management (including experience with Earned Value Management System), continuous and process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).Role requirements: Experience with Data-Driven Decision Making-Needed for interpreting enterprise metrics and using real-time data from ERP toolsExperience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP)-For capacity planning, scheduling, and integration with ERPExperience with Production Planning & Control- schedule, coordinate, and manage manufacturing runs while minimizing downtime and material wasteExperience with Lean Manufacturing Principles, and Risk Assessment & Mitigation essential for ES&H continuity planning, and handling disruptions from weather or human eventsSecurity clearance level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearanceUS citizenship requiredLocation: This role will require working onsite at our facility in Blue Grass Station right outside Lexington, KY. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
