Performs splices and installation on various types of conveyor belts and components to meet customer and industry requirements. Performs other field service and warehouse tasks, as trained and required. Reports to Field Service Supervisor or Manager.ResponsibilitiesMust maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and proceduresWorks closely with Field Service Supervisors and team members in attaining goals and objectivesGood understanding of overall Quality process and documentationCommunicate general and quality-related concerns to managementProvide onsite customer servicePerform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized spliceUnderstands tools and machinery applicable to the jobTravel is a required part of jobPerform other duties as trained and qualified forSkills And AbilitiesMust be able to work overtime hours, evening and weekends, when requiredMust be able travel to out-of-town jobs, as neededPossess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers, and team-members in a professional mannerBasic mechanical skills including the use of hand toolsBasic computer skills including; internet and emailMust be able to apply OSHA standards applicable and MSHA standards as applicable (training will be provided)Minimum QualificationsBe at least 21 years of ageHave a valid driver’s license and a clean driving recordAt least 3 years of experience working with conveyors and conveyor componentsHave a high school diploma/GEDReliable transportation is a mustBe able to work independentlyAbility to safely drive a Company truckAbility to work overtime, as requiredAbility to work nights and weekends, as required  Basic math skillsProperly measure with a tape measureAbility to travel on regular basisBackground checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical exam, or have a current DOT medical cardPreferred QualificationsExperience working with conveyors and conveyor componentsCompletion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experienceMechanically inclinedKnowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery a plusOSHA 10 and MSHA certificationsFirst aid and CPR certificationsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis role may include a mix of customer onsite work and warehouse floor environments. Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to count and measure accurately. Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools. Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle multiple times per day. Ability to inspect products for wear, damage, and leaks. Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.
