HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks a full-time Geography instructor. This position will report to the Chair of the Humanities, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, and Human Services Department in the School of Arts and Sciences.The instructor hired will be responsible, in part, for the following duties.Teaching Geography 101 (Intro to Geography) and Geography 102 (World Geography)Preparing detailed and engaging lessons for both face-to-face and online instructionDeveloping course syllabi, goals, and objectivesEvaluating students' progress in attaining goals and objectivesAssessing students' learning and adjusting instruction accordinglyDeveloping and implementing plans to improve student successMaintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferencesMeeting with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of studentsProviding academic advisement to studentsTeaching at various campus locations, as neededServing on committees, which help the college, faculty, staff, and studentsThe candidate must have a Master's degree or higher in Geography or a Master's degree or higher in another field of study and at least 18 hours in Master's or higher Geography courses.Advertised Salary:Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
