Lead Wellfield Technician (Pump Maintenance)

Position Summary:
Leads the pump/ liquids monitoring and maintenance activities of a landfill gas collection system as directed by the Wellfield Manager.
Achieves high standards of health, safety and environmental integrity while maintaining maximum removal of liquids to enable the collection of landfill gas.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead the pump maintenance team
Maximize liquids removal
Maximize gas collection and achieve sales goals
Liquid Level and Liquid Temperature measurement coordination
Share responsibility with the Lead Wellfield Technician (NSPS) for RTV cleaning, trash removal, housekeeping, shop organization, health, safety and environmental compliance
Cover for the Lead Wellfield Technician (NSPS) when on PTO, etc.
Train new technicians in the daily pump maintenance scheme and data collection requirements
Assure accurate data collection and entry as required by the customer
Enter data into the SCS eTools application as required
Repair and troubleshoot pumps as required
Routine Blower / Flare Operations
Assist on after hours emergency services call outs for gas quality, flow, and containment
Participate in customer facing meetings related to pump maintenance
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
High School or GED; technical training school
Working knowledge of pumps, gauges, etc.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills
Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment
Valid Driver’s License issued by state of residence and in good standing
Flexibility for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs
Other Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities
Natural or landfill gas wellfield experience a plus
Working Conditions:
Work environment includes indoors and outdoors type work
Pull Pumps by lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; frequently exerting up to 20 pounds of force
Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
Normal ability to distinguish colors, speak, touch, and hear
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus required
Frequent walking over uneven terrain, standing, use hands and fingers, handle and feel objects and tools
Normal dexterity of hands and fingers
Ability to operate a truck, forklift and use a variety of tools
