Senior Middleware Java Developer

Java Developer6 Month Contract-to-HireLocation: Hybrid (Client located in Concord, CA)***Must be able to work on W-2 Basis******Not open to C2C*** Job DescriptionConsult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables.Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.Skill Requirements4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.2+ years of Leadership experience4+ years of demonstrated experience and ability to work in an inclusive, geographically distributed teams (including onshore and offshore), including supporting, leading, and directing teams.4+ years of prior working experience with middleware web services/API application design, and implementation in a high volume production environment.4+ years of engineering and technical leadership experience in leading and supporting mission critical applications.Desired Skills:Experience in implementing Quality Engineering best practices and SDLC process improvements.Working experience with DevOps/DevSecOps, and application support is preferred.Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Knowledge and understanding of cloud readiness/cloud design principles/containerization (Kubernetes/Open Shift Platform) for Java/Spring applications.Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, DynaTrace.Experience or familiarity with Apigee or other API Management tools.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business, and/or equivalent formal training, certifications, or work experience.You will receive the following benefits:Medical Insurance & Health Savings Account (HSA)401(k)Paid Sick Time LeavePre-tax Commuter BenefitMotion Recruitment provides IT Staffing Solutions (Contract, Contract-to-Hire, and Direct Hire) in major North American markets.
