Located in the Valley of the Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.The University Appeals Administrator investigates appeals submitted for an exception within the University Policy Handbook. The department facilitates the administration of the processes available to students, faculty, and staff. If you are looking for a structured fast-paced role, this is the job for you!Location: Main Campus, 33rd and CamelbackWhat you will do:* Communicate with Deans, Faculty, and Staff regarding University policies.* Ensure protection of student records in accordance with FERPA.* Compile and analyze metrics to improve University policies and processes.* Research and investigate student appeals, and other issues, as related to University policies.* Mediate the Appeal Decision Board to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.* Facilitate the decisions to ensure appeals are resolved within the 15-day timeline per the University Policy Handbook.* Ensure all correspondence with accrediting bodies is documented and cataloged assuring that the University remains in compliance with these bodies.* Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem solving situations; Use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.* Other duties as assigned.What you need:* Bachelor's degree required.* Possess an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).* Be able to synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs workflows and procedures.* Consistently demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior congruent with Christian values in all transactions and relationships; Adhere to the regulatory and legal environment of higher education; Is openly accountable for actions, decisions and outcomes; Contribute to sustained profitability by establishing realistic goals and effectively managing resources.* Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication; Communicate vertically and horizontally throughout the organization; Listens to others to ensure understanding; Contributes meaningful information during meetings.* Able to work under pressure and still be able to maintain composure.* Excellent time management skills.* Knowledge of business acumen and aligns work with strategic goals.* Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.* Must successfully pass background checks* Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.Why work at GCU:* Exceptional workplace benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401K savings plan* Generous time off plan and 11 paid holidays* Paid time off to volunteer in the community or at GCU sponsored events* Free covered parking* We also offer full-time employees, their spouses, and dependent children an Education Tuition Discount Program* Free on-site gyms on campus#INDLOPESUP
