The company’s focus on customer-centric manufacturing ensures the delivery of supplier-led innovations tailored to its clients' competitive advantages.Position OverviewThe Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required to support K&S Manufacturing’s production operations. This role ensures that materials are available on time, at the right cost, and meet quality and specification requirements. The Buyer works closely with suppliers, production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain a smooth and efficient supply chain.The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and experienced in purchasing within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & ProcurementSource and purchase raw materials, components, tooling, and services to support production.Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure cost‑effective agreements.Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.Supplier ManagementDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationships.Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and cost.Address supplier issues, delays, or non‑conformances in collaboration with Quality and Engineering.Inventory & Material PlanningMaintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules.Coordinate with production planners to forecast material needs.Track material usage and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.Cross‑Functional CollaborationWork with Engineering on new product launches, material specifications, and sourcing alternatives.Partner with Quality to ensure purchased materials meet required standards.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain efficiency.Cost & Process OptimizationIdentify opportunities for cost reduction through supplier consolidation, alternative materials, or improved purchasing strategies.Participate in value‑engineering and cost‑saving projects.Maintain awareness of market trends, material pricing, and supply chain risks.Qualifications Required2–4+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of raw materials used in metal fabrication (steel, aluminum, etc.).Experience reading technical drawings and specifications.Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.PreferredExperience in contract manufacturing, stamping, or tool & die environments.Familiarity with ISO‑based quality systems.APICS, CPM, or related supply chain certifications.Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In personBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceOnsite Gym
