Overview As a Materials Engineer at Rolls-Royce in Bristol, you will work across Defence engine programmes within Materials Applications and Capability Acquisition. You will provide expert materials guidance, contribute to test design and analysis, and drive material development through TRL milestones. You’ll engage with suppliers and universities to advance cutting-edge materials technologies. ResponsibilitiesProvide expert materials advice across Defence Bristol programmesDesign and analyse test programmes and dataInvestigate development, manufacturing, and in-service issues with structured analysisParticipate in continuous improvement projectsAdvise on new design and technology development; lead TRL progression for novel materials and processesEvaluate manufacturing effects on material performanceSupport test design, data analysis, and database generation for future productsDevelop and maintain materials and process specifications Key requirementsBachelor's/Master's/PhD in Materials Science/Engineering or equivalentAbility to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinkingExcellent written and verbal communication to build cross-business relationshipsSecurity Check clearance (UK national or dual national in certain cases)strong communicationcross-functional collaborationproblem-solvingmaterials science and engineeringdesign and analysis of test programmesmaterials and process specifications
