About the Role As a Cannabis Retail Advisor, you will be the face of our brand, guiding customers through our diverse product offerings and ensuring a personalized, informative shopping journey. Key Responsibilities Warmly welcome and engage every customer, providing personalized product recommendations based on their individual needs and preferences. Accurately verify customer identification and documentation to ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements. Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain an inviting store atmosphere and optimize service efficiency. Actively participate in maintaining the store's pristine condition, including thorough cleaning, meticulous stocking, and organized product displays. Execute precise and timely order entry, skillfully manage cash and debit transactions, and maintain a consistently balanced cash drawer. Conduct regular, accurate inventory counts for all dispensary products, contributing to efficient stock management. Continuously expand and maintain in-depth knowledge of cannabis products, industry trends, and legal regulations to serve as a trusted resource. Assist with product preparation tasks, including trimming and rolling pre-packaged products. Ensure all product displays, menus, and signage are current, informative, and visually appealing. Contribute to a positive and compliant retail environment, supporting all operational duties as required. Required Qualifications Demonstrable knowledge and genuine interest in cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods. A minimum of one year of experience in a customer-facing retail or service industry role, showcasing strong interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs. Proficiency in basic computer operations, Point of Sale (POS) systems, and cash handling procedures. Must be of legal age to sell cannabis in the UK (as per current regulations). Solid foundational mathematical skills for accurate transaction processing and change management. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate product information and policies. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in the cannabis industry, particularly in a retail or advisory capacity. A proven track record of exceeding customer service expectations and fostering customer loyalty. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Certification or advanced training in cannabis education. Fluency in additional languages is a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment This role requires physical stamina, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and remaining stationary throughout shifts. Employees will frequently engage in reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, stooping, and wiping, with the potential for slips or trips. Regular exposure to strong cannabis odors is inherent to the role, and frequent handling of cannabis products is required. The ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds is essential, along with a commitment to frequent hand washing to maintain hygiene standards.
