The Desk Assistant role is an entry level position in the ABC News Washington Bureau. Key responsibilities include providing editorial and logistical support for the Assignment Desk, Good Morning America, World News Tonight & ABC News Live, and working with different platforms including NewsOne, Digital and This Week with George Stephanopoulos. This role often involves working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Desk Assistants are also responsible for research & fact-checking, field support during live news events, and social media monitoring. The Desk Assistant position is covered by the WGAE-ABC National Agreement.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of one year of television production experience, either in a college or professional newsroom
A collaborator who's able to work well under tight deadlines and comfortable in multi-tasking
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Camera/Editing skills a plus
The pay rate for this role in Washington, DC is $25.10 per hour.
