This role plays a critical part in verifying compliance to specifications, identifying and resolving quality issues with suppliers, and driving continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.ResponsibilitiesPerform receiving inspections on first articles and production parts; document results in inspection records.Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using standard metrology equipment and tools.Assist in root cause analysis for supplier-related non-conformances.Collaborate with suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve quality/performance issues.Provide technical support and analysis regarding systemic supplier quality concerns.Initiate and facilitate corrective actions to prevent recurrence of failures.Collect and analyze failure data to support continuous improvement with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other internal teams.Support internal audits to ensure compliance with GIW's Quality Management System.Maintain calibration and functionality of metrology equipment and inspection tools.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation:High school diploma requiredAssociate degree or higher in a technical field preferredExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection or supplier qualityExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredSkills And AbilitiesProficient in metrology, visual inspection, and interpreting GD&T, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematicsFamiliarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and database softwareExcellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracyEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong critical thinking and sound decision-making abilitiesCapable of working independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environmentValid driver’s license with a good driving recordWillingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (passport may be required)AuthorityAuthorized to inspect and approve purchased parts for production based on supplier part submission and inspection criteriaFrequentlyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Stand, walk, bend, and use hands to operate inspection tools and equipmentLift up to 25 lbs.OccasionallyClimb ladders or work in awkward positions to inspect larger partsLift up to 50 lbs. with assistanceKSB GIW, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
