Data Center Technician - Night Shift
Job Overview Data Center Technician responsible for server rack installations, hardware break–fix, network troubleshooting, and resolution of operational incidents at Amazon Web Services data centers. Supports 24/7 operations, including night shift (6 pm–8 am), and may work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities Perform server rack installations, hardware break–fix, and network troubleshooting. Respond to operational incidents and engage senior technicians and management as required. Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, vendors, and contractors. Participate in on‐call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives. Help train and onboard new team members. Physical Requirements Lift or move up to 40 lb; occasionally participate in group lifts for >41 lb. Work in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments. Stand and walk up to 8 + hours daily; ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations. Essential Requirements Willingness to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed. Temporary work at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational. Travel frequency varies with business needs. Qualifications Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience working in a Data Center environment. Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional/military experience in a relevant field. Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting. Benefits and Compensation The starting pay for this position ranges from USD 27.00 to 48.00 hourly, depending on location.
