Overview:
In this role you will maintain and support an onsite virtualization and containerized infrastructure for the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Weapons System. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, cloud-native operations and scalable deployments. The position blends container orchestration, DevOps, and SRE practices to sustain mission-critical services. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge cloud technologies in a secured environment and drive reliability and performance for key defense systems. Responsibilities:
Manage and support containerized environments using Podman, Docker, and Docker ComposeDeploy, monitor, and scale applications in Kubernetes environmentsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable software deploymentCollaborate with development, security, and product teams to maintain servicesCreate and maintain operational documentation and runbooksSupport cloud-native and virtualization initiatives in a secure environment
Key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent)5-7+ years of experience in cloud operations, SRE, and DevOps EngineeringHands-On experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and PodmanScripting experience with Bash and/or PythonExperience with Git or version control systemsFamiliarity with IDEs such as EclipseExperience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus and Grafana) Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, and IAM conceptsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsMust be a U.S. Citizen with a current interim or current active security clearance (secret level or higher)collaborationstrong communicationproblem-solvingKubernetesDockerPodman
