NSC-Camp Walter Johnson - Denton, NC 27239OverviewSalary Range: $400.00 - $400.00 CommissionPosition Type: Seasonal Full TimeEducation Level: High School Diploma/GED Category: CampDescriptionEnsures buildings are unlocked in the morning for camp activities.Ensuresall staff and campers are in their quarters by curfew and remain in their personal living quarters throughout the night.Secures and locks all buildings after curfew.Monitorscamp facilities throughout the night.Maintainsthe security of all sleeping areas and buildings by conducting security checks throughout the night.Keepsasecurity log of all incidents. Log to be turned into Camp Director each morning and bring to the CampDirector's attentionany incidents that need immediate attention.Servesas a transport person for emergency trips.Keepspersonal living quarters neat, clean,and ready for inspection.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of securitypractices and procedures.Knowledge of The Salvation Army's mission, philosophy, culture, and protocol.Ability to embrace, support, and promote The Salvation Army'smission and ministry.AbilitytorepresentTheSalvationArmyin a professional manner.Ability to influence and control human behavior and enforce security rules and guidelines.Ability to respond to emergenciescalmly and effectively.Ability to communicate and work with groupsparticipating(age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.Ability toobservecamper and staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforceappropriate safetyregulations and emergency procedures, and applyappropriate behavior-managementtechniques.Education and ExperienceSix monthsofexperience working with the public,with experience in a security or social service environment preferred.orAny equivalent combination of training and experiencethatprovides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.CertificationsValid and Current Driver's LicenseCPR and First Aid CertificationPhysical RequirementsAbilityto meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Visual and auditory ability toidentifyand respond to environmental and otherhazards related to the activity.Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.Must be able toassistcampers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) andpossessthestrength and endurancerequiredtomaintainconstant supervision of campers.Some physical requirements of theCampSecurity positioninclude endurance, including climbing, standing,bending, stooping, and stretching.Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterityarerequiredto manipulate security equipment and perform security activities.Requiresa normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicateappropriate camperactivities/programs,and the ability tolift upto 50 lbs.J-18808-Ljbffr
