Job Title: Boiler OperatorIf your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.Department: PressReports to: Operations ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay Range: $28.00/hour + 10% shift differential for nights and weekend shiftsSchedule - Full-timePrimary Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AMWeekend Shift Option: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (work 36 hours, paid for 40)Summary:The Boiler Operator position is responsible for the daily operations of a high-pressure steam boiler, including startups and shutdowns, monitoring operations, and performing inspections and maintenance as needed.Key Job Duties:Perform daily operations of the boiler, including startups and shutdownsMonitor boiler operations, document readings, and complete data reportsConduct routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient operationPull water samples, test water, and adjust chemical quantities for the water softener systemIdentify and troubleshoot issues with boilers and supporting equipmentPerform maintenance on boiler systems as neededFollow all general manufacturing practices (GMP) and adhere to company, regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsMaintain clear communication (oral and written) within the maintenance and boiler team to ensure smooth shift transitionsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:2B Boiler License or higher requiredHigh School Diploma or GED preferredAbility to read, speak, and understand written and verbal instructionsSelf-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionBasic computer skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and use independent judgmentAbility to pass a background check and physical/drug screeningExperience in a food-grade facility preferred (dry goods and high-speed packaging)Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentagesAbility to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructionsKnowledge and Skills:Basic math proficiency including weight calculations, averages, and percentagesAbility to read and write in EnglishProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint (Access a plus)Work Environment / Physical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, and bendAbility to lift at least 50 lbsEqual Employment OpportunityWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
