Clinical Placement CoordinatorThe Clinical Placement Coordinator (CPC) is a full-time 12 month staff position in the Mary Black College of Nursing. The CPC is responsible for the acquisition of clinical sites and preceptors for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The position ensures student compliance with health and other clinical agency data requirements. Serving both Spartanburg and Greenville campus locations. The Clinical Placement Coordinator reports to the Dean or Dean's designee. Requires 1 or more years of job related experience.Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials - Successful background check is required.Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or high school diploma and 4 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency Health Care experience preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills exerting extreme patience and tact in dealing with public via telephone and direct contact; maintain confidentiality; ability to plan and execute work schedule while handling multiple tasks; ability to handle stress.Job DutiesCollaborates with the Associate Dean(s), Program Director(s), Clinical Coordinator(s), and Dean to identify and acquire clinical sites and preceptors for undergraduate and graduate students that meet educational requirements.Assigns faculty/students to clinical practicum sites that meet course objectives.Maintains up-to-date student health records ensuring they are current and in compliance with the nursing program and clinical agency.Communicates health care agency requirements (i.e. orientations, charting, parking rules/regulations) to faculty.Monitors, reports, and submits appropriate forms to clinical agencies that may include but are not limited to criminal background checks, CPR certification, drug screen, health and immunization requirements.Serves as the liaison between the Mary Black School of Nursing and health care agencies.Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical/practicum sites and preceptors.Conducts clinical site visits annually and as needed to assess appropriateness of clinical sites.Conducts preceptor and clinical site evaluations each semester obtaining faculty and student feedback that is reported to the Dean or Dean's designee.Works within various program software used for clinical management (i.e. Microsoft Office, My Clinical Exchange)
