As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our electro-mechanical equipment. Your responsibilities will include the meticulous assembly and disassembly of components, conducting thorough quality testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and executing precise repairs. Operating within a fast-paced, customer service-driven environment, your expertise will directly support our commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions to our clientsWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Technical Expertise and Mechanical Proficiency:Soldering skillsUnderstanding of various measuring equipment (Digital multi-meters, mega ohm meter, etc.)Test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment in a fast-paced customer service environmentExperience with building and troubleshooting wiring harnessesWorking knowledge of clutch and bearing systemsKnowledge of a motor and its internal componentsPossess a general knowledge of the use and operation of basic hand and power toolsAnalytical and Documentation Skills:Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, and test proceduresAbility to annotate and maintain repair documentationHave excellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsPossess basic computer skillsCommunication, Work Ethic, and Team Collaboration:Possess excellent written and oral communication skillsPossess good attendance and work ethicPerform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient mannerHave the flexibility to work overtime when requiredAbility to work independently or as a member of a teamWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required ExperienceMechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.Preferred minimum of 2 years' verifiable experience as a repair technician.Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience with building and troubleshooting wiring harnesses.Education & CertificationsCandidate must have a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent military experience in an electrical-mechanical field.Travel & Working EnvironmentNormal work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Friday.Flexibility to work overtime as required.The technician will be working in an assigned work bench or truck area on the facility.Periodically lift to fifty pounds and spend hours standing, sitting, and/or walking during a normal day.How we live our cultureOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
