Electrical Controls Engineer
Overview
As an Electrical & Controls Engineer in Hadrian’s Factory Automation division, you will design, develop, and commission automated robotic cells for high-precision manufacturing. You’ll collaborate with hardware, software, and robotics teams to scale Hadrian’s machining capabilities across multiple facilities. You will implement control systems, validate safety and reliability, and develop scalable automation standards. This role combines hands-on field commissioning with defining engineering standards to accelerate the company’s factory footprint and mission. ResponsibilitiesLead electrical and controls design for automated manufacturing robotic cellsWrite and maintain PLC applications using Siemens TIA PortalDesign and debug control panels to industrial standards (NFPA 79, UL 508A)Develop and maintain electrical documentation, wiring diagrams, and BOMsCommission and debug automation systems on the production floorDiagnose and resolve control system and hardware issuesDevelop standards, documentation, and procedures for scalable automation deployment
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer scienceExperience with Siemens automation systems and programmingExperience designing and commissioning electrical systems and panels to industrial safety standardsStrong skills in integrating sensors and performing risk assessments per ISO 13849 or ANSI B11Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems using diagnostic tools and lead root cause analysisExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCurious and self-motivatedStrong communication skillsTroubleshooting mindsetSiemens TIA PortalSiemens automation systemsIndustrial safety standards (NFPA 79, UL 508A)
