Warehouse Associate
U.S. LUMBER, an SBP company is currently looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our VALUES based organization who is responsible, at various points, for loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting, and otherwise handling products that come into and move out our Smithfield, NC warehouse. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Individuals must always follow U.S. Lumber safety policies and procedures.Shift Times: 9am - Close, Mon - Friday.Hourly pay rate: $16/hour + benefits.Essential Functions:Off-loading and packaging lumber.Safely operate forklift and other machineryBand, wrap, tape productMaintain work area and be organizedIdentify and read tickets, SKUs, UPC labels and reportsGreat attention to detail and accuracy - be able to stand and work on your feet throughout shift as normal routineBe able to bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, push, pull, move, and lift to 50lbsWork in an outside warehouse environmentFollow all safety proceduresWork in a team environmentOther duties may be assignedEnvironmental Job Requirements:Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the Warehouse, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing uneven walking surfaces.Warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy.Fluctuations of temperature are common (below freezing to 100+); some outdoor exposure during the workday.Wet floors may occur during rainy or snowy weather or at other times depending on what has transpired in the environment (i.e. cleaning of floors...) Required credentials: High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.Prior lumber experience desired. Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.Must have basic math and analytical skillsTeam Lead/Shift supervisor experience is preferred.Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative.
