The newly expanded Derby City Gaming & Hotel was voted one of the "Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville" by Louisville Business FirstJOB SUMMARYThe Expeditor is responsible for the efficient flow of orders from the kitchen to the servers and/or guests.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure orders are being prepared with the correct priorityAssist in organizing order tickets and proper placement of food on food traysCollaborate with the culinary team to ensure established recipes are adhered to and standards are being met on a consistent basisInspect dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before sending them out to guestsAssist in delivering orders/running food to maintain prompt service to guestsWill maintain the highest level of service standards at all times and provide the best-in-class dining experience possibleAddresses food/beverage or service related guest issues and utilize creativity and resources available to maintain optimum satisfactionInspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in overall cleanlinessTransfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staffEliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashingMust be knowledgeable of all health department standards and use good hygiene practicesSupport bussers/servers in their tasks as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESWorks on 100% of the time with a "hands-on" mentality for guest serviceMaintain interpersonal working relationships among all Team Members and the publicExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be detail oriented, have a professional attitude. Outstanding coordination and multitasking abilitiesAbility to remain calm under stressful situationsSelf-motivated with attention to detailKnowledge of menu items and service. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nightsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCETwo years high volume at a Multi-unit operationHigh school diploma required.Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing licensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
