Senior Hydrogeologist
We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to manage, support, and deliver diverse water resource, industrial, commercial, power generation and mining projects across the United States. Projects typically involve baseline hydrologic and water resource studies, groundwater studies, water supply, permitting, operational support, construction dewatering, infiltration to groundwater, and contaminant investigations. Strong technical skills in hydrogeology, modeling, research, client engagement, and written and verbal communication are essential. Proven skills in constructive client engagement, resulting in successful project outcomes. This is a full-time position located in our Butte, MT office or virtually.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
Direct project teams engaged in hydrogeologic analyses for construction dewatering, supporting multi-disciplinary teams in cut-off wall design, infiltration to groundwater, water rights and water supply, aquifer storage, and environmental projects.
Conduct management oversight of staff engaged in field data collection.
Oversee, manage and provide project strategy for the analysis of aquifer tests including predictive surface and groundwater modeling, and other hydrologic analyses.
Work with project teams to conceptualize, build, and calibrate a variety of groundwater flow models using industry accepted software (Visual MODFLOW, GMS, Groundwater Vistas, SEEP/W, HYDRUS)
Oversee routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using industry standard procedures.
Assist in identifying technical issues and problem-solving approaches for hydrogeological site characterization to support our geotechnical and contaminated site management practices.
Review regulations as appropriate and manage permitting with state and federal agencies and applicable technical programs.
Oversee preparation of reports including data visualization such as potentiometric surface maps, geologic and hydrogeological cross-sections, hydrogeologic model simulations, and maps.
Prepare cost proposals and qualification statements.
Possess advanced skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating and scheduling.
Provide mentorship and coaching to less experienced staff.
Up to 10% overnight travel is expected with this position.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
B.S. degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline. Master’s degree strongly desired.
Professional Hydrogeologist License in Washington or ability to obtain within 1 year.
15+ years total related work experience with focus on hydrogeology supporting a geotechnical practice.
Ability to work with project teams and clients to develop project execution strategy using a variety of industry accepted groundwater modeling software (Visual MODFLOW, GMS, Groundwater Vistas, SEEP/W, HYDRUS).
Strong Data visualization and presentation skills required.
Ability to present to and support clients with negotiating with regulators.
Must possess unwavering commitment to company and client Health & Safety protocols.
