This part-time, 10-month role is responsible for designing and leading theatre-based workshops, recruiting and cultivating senior cohorts, and guiding the development of community-generated stories into cohesive theatrical storytelling pieces. Working closely with the Camp ¡Exprésate! Program Director, Education Program Specialist, and Artistic Director, the Program Director shapes curriculum, supports teaching artists, collaborates with partner organizations, and contributes to program evaluation and grant reporting. The program begins with intentional senior cohort development, integrates youth participants through Camp ¡Exprésate!, and culminates in the creation of theatrical storytelling pieces rooted in lived experience.The Program Director will lead curriculum development, instructional strategy, artistic facilitation, and story development processes. This role includes guiding workshops that generate original material and collaborating with playwrights or devising artists to shape participant stories into structured theatrical presentations.Administrative logistics are supported by Mosaic's Education Program Specialist. This role centers on artistic leadership, program design, community partnership, and evaluation alignment within a collaborative ecosystem.This is a part-time, 10-month contract position structured at approximately 20 hours per week.Core ResponsibilitiesArtistic & Curricular LeadershipLead the design and evolution of Uniendo's curriculum and instructional frameworkDevelop theatre-based programming tailored to seniors and intergenerational cohortsAdapt curriculum for accessibility, including varied mobility, cognitive, and communication needsSupervise and mentor teaching artists in facilitation and instructional approachLead and/or co-facilitate workshops and culminating sharingsEnsure alignment with Mosaic's artistic standards and missionDevised Theatre & Story DevelopmentGuide participants through story generation and narrative exploration processesCollaborate with playwright(s) or devising artists to translate workshop outputs into cohesive theatrical storytelling piecesHelp shape structure, tone, and presentation of community-based storiesSupport ethical storytelling practices rooted in consent and respectContribute to the artistic integrity of any public-facing performance outcomesProgram Development & Intergenerational IntegrationActively cultivate senior participant cohorts through partnerships with senior centers, housing communities, and social service organizationsCollaborate with Camp ¡Exprésate! Program Director to integrate youth and senior cohortsDesign and refine the structure for meaningful intergenerational exchangeBuild repeatable models for merging creative youth development with senior storytellingContribute to defining measurable outcomes related to belonging, creative expression, and intergenerational connectionCollaborate on evaluation tools and reflective practicesProvide narrative and data input for grant reportingEnsure program implementation aligns with funder expectationsCollaboration & Organizational AlignmentWork closely with the Artistic Director on artistic vision and storytelling directionPartner with the Education Program Specialist for implementation logistics and data trackingCollaborate with partner organizations to refine program models to meet evolving community needsQualificationsRequiredProfessional experience as a theatre teaching artist, director, or devising artistDemonstrated experience developing curriculum or leading arts-based instructional programsExperience working with senior populationsExperience supervising or mentoring teaching artistsExperience in collaborative or devised theatre processesStrong communication and partnership-building skillsPreferredExperience translating community-generated material into staged storytellingExperience with intergenerational programmingFamiliarity with grant-funded programs and outcomes reportingBilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferredKnowledge of North County San Diego community landscapeStructure & ScopeThis role is structured at approximately 20 hours per week and focuses on artistic, curricular, and storytelling leadership.
