Must be able to obtain public trust clearance.Position Overview:Support a project to plan and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for web-based applications as part of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant development language and development leadership experience, strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. This is a great opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that provide clear value to end users and our federal government clients.What They’ll Be Doing:The Software Developer will have the responsibility to plan, design, and prototype the implementation of secure authentication mechanisms for web-based applications. The primary focus of this role is to deliver a robust MFA solution leveraging industry available and customer preferred solutions (e.g., AWS Cognito, Okta, Login.gov). The ideal candidate will have expertise in identity and access management, cloud-based authentication services, and secure application development.Required Education, Experience, and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with five (5) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor’s Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environmentProject experience planning and developing MFA for a web-based applicationKnowledge and implementation of MFA solutions, specifically AWS Cognito, Okta, Login.govProject experience with Active Directory and connection to Federated sourcesExperience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version controlProven experience implementing authentication mechanisms that adhere to NIST SP 800-63B guidelines and/or guidelines for federal user accessStrong understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements for user flows and interfacesSoftware delivery using the Agile Scrum or Kanban methodology via JiraExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written) plus Active listening skillsAbility to discuss technical issues with non-technical government officialsAbility to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needsPreferred Education, Experience, and SkillsProficiency in one or more languages: JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React, Angular), Java / Spring Boot, Python, JSON, .NET CoreExperience building and integrating RESTful APIsExperience implementing password policies and account recovery flowsKnowledge of secure web practices: HTTPS, CORS, CSRF protection, secure storage of tokensAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect)Familiarity with implementing phishing-resistant MFA protocols, including PIV/CAC integration or authentication standards
