Lead Field Technician (Nashville)
Please note, this is an open-ended contract with a schedule rotation every 5 weeks. Travel is 75+ percent within the U.S., staying in a location anywhere from 2 days to 7 days and sometimes more.

The Lead Technician will be responsible for the on-site management of teams of 2-6 workers performing installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of smart lock systems at commercial retail properties. This role requires experience leading a project team, a sound understanding of smart device technology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Management of Installer Teams: Organize, supervise, and direct teams of 2-5 device installers completing installation of security devices at retail stores. Serve as a subject matter expert on technical issues, ensure installation team adheres to written instructions and guidance, completes work in a timely manner, and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Conduct training for installer personnel.
Installation: Install smart lock devices at retail locations, ensuring proper functionality and integration with existing door systems and smart home networks.
Configuration: Set up and configure smart locks, including connecting them to Wi-Fi networks, mobile apps, and other smart devices.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to smart lock installation and functionality, providing on-site support as needed.
Customer Interaction: Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to Installers on how install and configure smart lock systems, ensuring they are comfortable and confident in performing their tasks.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and software updates on installed devices to ensure optimal performance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and customer interactions for reporting purposes.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during installations to ensure the protection of both the installer and the client.
Travel: Travel to various client locations, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. Travel is 50+ percent and may be overnight, as we service various retail locations in a city; 3-4 day trips are possible, with some weekends.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience managing IT project teams and/or installation teams in a retail setting. Experience installing smart home devices, particularly smart locks, is preferred. Experience with electrical work or carpentry is a plus.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of smart device technology, including Wi-Fi networks, mobile applications, and retail automation systems.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site and provide effective solutions.
Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on proactively resolving issues in a high visibility retail environment.
Attention to Detail: Precision in installation and configuration to ensure proper operation and security of the smart lock systems.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment and perform installations in various environments.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
