K-12 Teacher, Alpha - $120,000/year USD

CrossoverOrlando, FLMay 29th, 2026
$120,000/year W2 compensation, distributed weekly; comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage begins day oneFull-time position (40 hours per week), on-site at Alpha School's Kirkland, WA campus (short-term assignment at a different Alpha campus may occur prior to Kirkland launch)Current Washington State Teaching Certificate mandatory. Without certification, no interview will be conducted. You hold a valid WA teaching certificate. The real question is whether you still want to fill your days with lectures, grading cycles, and delivering standardized curriculum to every student the same way.Your role here is not traditional teaching. You coach. The most meaningful support you can offer a student who reached 99% of their weekly target is to refuse to call it complete. If that creates discomfort, this is not your role. If it energizes you because maintaining standards is how you communicate belief in a student's capacity, continue reading.Alpha students complete their academic learning through AI-driven adaptive applications. No classroom lectures. No textbooks. No Sunday nights building lesson plans. Approximately 60% of your time is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills sessions covering public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback. Roughly 30% involves meeting with students individually or in small groups, analyzing Coachbot data, and driving each student toward their weekly app progression benchmarks. The remaining 10% is performance data analysis that informs your coaching strategy for the coming week. You will not follow a script; the most effective people in this position modify sessions and create new content when they identify needs.Excellence in this role is not defined by "engaging activities." It is defined by measurable progress. A successful semester means at least 90% of your cohort demonstrates pre-to-post improvement on Test2Pass, at least 90% reach their weekly learning-app progression benchmarks, and students rate their experience with you at 4 out of 5 or higher. Fall short on any of these three metrics and you fall short of the role's expectations. As you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, opportunities open to advance to Lead Guide—mentoring newer Guides while managing a cohort—and eventually to Campus Lead.If you prefer curriculum delivered to you, or view warmth and rigorous expectations as incompatible, this position is not suitable. If your WA certificate is current and you are motivated by coaching K-8 students to tangible results rather than lecturing from a textbook, submit your application today. What You Will Be DoingFacilitating one-hour life-skills sessions for K-8 cohorts focused on public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback, modifying existing frameworks and creating new sessions when gaps are identifiedConducting Test2Pass pre- and post-assessments and coaching students who have not yet achieved mastery until they demonstrate competencyConducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions that drive every student toward their weekly app progression benchmarks, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's reward structures (school currency, leaderboards), and your rapport with each student to overcome resistanceAnalyzing weekly performance metrics, identifying struggling students early, and implementing intervention strategies within the same weekServing as the adult who maintains high expectations and the adult students trust; warmth creates the foundation to challenge, and challenging demonstrates your confidence in their ability to succeedWhat You Won’t Be DoingDelivering whiteboard lectures or preparing daily lesson plans; academic content is delivered through the apps, not by youDeveloping curriculum from the ground up; you deliver a proven framework with energy and narrative skillMonitoring kids at computers or passively watching them move through the day; coaching here is proactive, personalized, and persistentReducing a weekly target or advancing a student without demonstrated mastery to maintain schedule or avoid difficult discussionsAssessing homework or handling parent communicationsK-12 Teacher Key ResponsibilitiesGuide a K-8 cohort to measurable mastery of life skills and weekly learning-app progression benchmarks.Basic RequirementsCurrent, valid Washington State Teaching Certificate (issued by WA OSPI) or capability to secure it promptlyBachelor's degree in any disciplineAvailable to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site at Alpha School's Kirkland, WA campus (with possible short-term placement at another Alpha campus before Kirkland opens)Comfortable allowing AI to manage instructional delivery while you concentrate on coaching and life-skills developmentLegal authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorshipNice-to-have RequirementsBackground working with K-8 students in any context (classroom instruction, tutoring, sports, debate, theater, camps, or after-school programming)Record of high personal achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), demonstrating that holding others to rigorous standards is natural behavior, not an adopted stanceNarrative ability and stage presence capable of engaging a room of 12-year-olds for an hour without escalating volumeDemonstrated success converting disengaged or resistant learners into active contributorsAbout AlphaWant to join a learning rebellion that’s transforming the traditional classroom?
