SQL Application Engineer

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their SQL Application / Admin Support Engineer position! This is a 12 month + contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.What You'll Be Doing:Lead production support efforts and user troubleshooting initiatives, providing high-energy technical assistance through screen shares, issue resolution, and rapid response to system incidentsDesign and develop SQL queries, data extracts, and database modifications to support data warehouse enhancements and business intelligence requirementsAdminister and maintain applications across both Linux and Windows server environments, managing patches, version updates, and system configurationsSupport CICD pipelines using GitLab, Artifactory, and Ansible to facilitate monthly releases and system deploymentsCoordinate with Engineers and Business Analysts on application changes, system modifications, and release planning activitiesManage day-to-day system administration tasks including Active Directory user management, access resolution, and .NET version complianceExecute off-hour implementations and participate in on-call rotation to ensure continuous system availabilityWrite and maintain PowerShell and Bash/shell scripts to automate processes and enhance operational efficiencyCollaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze complex system interrelationships and implement technically sound solutionsDocument technical specifications, test plans, and system changes while mentoring less experienced team membersWhat You'll Need to Have:5+ years of systems analysis and application development experience with strong SQL development capabilitiesProven expertise in PowerShell and Linux shell scripting for automation and system managementSolid experience with Linux and Windows server administration, including Active Directory managementDemonstrated ability in production support environments with a track record of rapid issue resolution and user supportStrong understanding of complete SDLC administration and CICD tooling (GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible)Experience with Agile methodologies and proficiency using Jira and Confluence for project trackingHigh-energy work style with ability to multitask across multiple complex projects simultaneouslyBanking or financial services industry experience strongly preferredExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiencesPay Range: $50-62/hrQuestions about any of our jobs?
