Lead Non Clinical Case Manager

We are hiring a Lead Registered Nurse Case Manager to direct a five-person, non-clinical medical case management team based at Camp Johnson in Colchester, VT.This is a non-clinical role centered on the administration, analysis, coding, and reporting of Soldiers’ medical readiness cases – not direct patient care. As the Lead, you will guide and supervise the team while carrying your own case management workload, and you will serve as the Contract Manager and primary point of contact to the Government. It is a hands-on leadership role, not a strictly administrative one.If you are an RN who combines strong case management skills with team leadership and a passion for serving those who serve, we want to hear from you.What You’ll DoLead the Team & Manage the Contract• Supervise and coordinate the daily work of the case management team (two RN Case Managers and two Medical Records Technicians), ensuring uninterrupted coverage of all tasks.• Serve as Contract Manager and the primary point of contact to the Government, communicating through the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to resolve issues and receive direction.• Own quality control – monitor performance against required timelines, lead audits, and drive corrective actions through performance improvement plans.• Ensure continuity of staffing and coverage during surge, readiness, and mobilization periods.Manage Cases & Readiness• Establish and maintain eCase profiles for referred Soldiers within one workday of provider referral.• Document all encounters and newly received medical information in eCase / MEDCHART within three business days.• Prepare and reconcile records for Medical Evaluation Board / Physical Evaluation Board (MEB/PEB) proceedings, completing file prep at least one workday before scheduled boards, and attend boards.• Track MRC3/DRC3 profiles and deliver accurate monthly status and profile reports by the 7th calendar day of each month.• Coordinate Soldier exams, evaluations, treatment plans, and referrals with military and civilian providers and facilities.• Support Periodic Health Assessment (PHA), Soldier Readiness Check (SRC), and Soldier Readiness Process (SRP) events, including periodic weekend events.• Conduct monthly case reviews with VTARNG commands and provide regular liaison with the lead medical provider on complex cases.• Support deployment and mobilization operations, ensuring records are transfer-ready 72 hours prior to mobilization (may involve occasional travel).Safeguard Records & Compliance• Maintain Soldier medical records and Health Readiness Records in accordance with applicable Army regulations (AR 40-35, AR 40-66, AR 40-501, AR 40-502).• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect all personally identifiable and protected health information.What You’ll Bring (Required)• Active RN License: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license – a Vermont single-state license or a multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license with privileges to practice in Vermont. (License may be pending at time of hire but must be active and in good standing before performing any work.)• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.• Certified Case Manager (CCM) credential or equivalent professional case management certification.• Military readiness systems experience: Recent, documented, hands-on experience (within the past five years) using Army/military medical readiness systems such as MEDCHART and/or MHS GENESIS.• Clinical / case management experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical or case management experience.• Supervisory experience: Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or team-lead experience in a clinical or case management setting, in addition to the clinical experience above (at least four (4) years of total professional nursing experience).• U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a Tier 1 background investigation (National Agency Check with Inquiries – NACI) to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and required network/IT access.Bonus Points For• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher.• Prior experience within a Military Health System (MHS) or supporting military medical readiness operations.• Working knowledge of military-specific medical regulations (e.g., AR 40-501).• Experience with additional readiness systems such as MEDPROS.Schedule & Work Environment• Full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday, 0730–1630, with periodic weekend Soldier readiness event support.• Work performed at a National Guard installation; subject to standard installation security, identification, and safety requirements.• Telework is authorized only in support of Continuity of Operations (COOP).
