Electrical Test Engineer (New Grad)

DescriptionEPC Power is looking to add an electrical engineer to our testing team. In this role you will work closely with experienced engineers on a variety of activities including coding, inverter and component testing, and manufacturing support. After training and becoming familiar with EPC products, you will be an integral part of the testing team. You will have opportunities to contribute to new product design, customer requests, lab testing, PCB development and troubleshooting.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform RCA on all production failures, this includes component, sub-assy, full-assy levelDevelop test/procedural solutions for RCAs when applicable, this may include procedural improvements, test fixtures, etc.Provide production support to production test technicians when neededDevelop, coordinate, and participate in board and equipment functional testing, wiring checkout, FAT, and end of line testingTroubleshoot cabinet electrical issues ( 208Vac ) and circuit board issues as neededMaintain and develop production test plan documentationSupport maintenance of wiring diagrams in Altium for manufacturing and customer applications. Drawings include cable harnesses, routing, cabinet interfaces, wiring connection specifications, test stands, and break out terminal blocksTroubleshoot failed PCB boards and provide corrective actions to the quality teamOccasional travel may be required (10%)RequirementsB.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical EngineeringExperience using typical lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering stations, signal generators, DAQExperience interning in an engineering roleKnowledge of PTC CreoSolid understanding of the fundamental concepts of electrical power and circuitsAbility to work well within a team and clearly communicate technical progress and challengesSoldering and PCB rework skillsExperience with PCB design software (Altium/E-plan preferred)Experience with PCB schematic capture, layout, manufacturing, testingHands on lab skills, prototyping, testing, cable harness fabrication, lab testing, board bringupExperience with circuit simulation (eg. LTSpice), NI/Labview, Python, MatLab/Simulink, and/or C programmingStrong problem-solving skillsPreferredLab experienceFamiliar with typical commercial and industrial cabinet wiring, documentation, wiring harnessesAble to understand, maintain, and improve company electrical drawing standardsExperience with typical commercial and industrial electrical power (480Vac,3p), particularly in inverter applicationsInterested in power electronicsPhysicalAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of time Ability to infrequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
