Location: Hybrid - Work from home with on-site testing/production/troubleshooting in Clearwater, FL

Job Summary: We are seeking an Embedded Electronics Engineer with strong expertise in software/firmware development. While the role is primarily firmware/software-focused, candidates should have a solid understanding of electronics schematic design and be comfortable with testing and troubleshooting electronic boards through the lens of code development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and test firmware using C/C++.
Implement and validate communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
Perform hardware debugging and troubleshooting with a focus on code-driven diagnostics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
Create and execute test plans to validate functionality.
Document designs and participate in design reviews.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is helpful but not required.
5+ years of experience in embedded systems with a strong emphasis on software/firmware development.
Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware from a firmware perspective.
Familiarity with RTOS and bare-metal programming.
Basic understanding of electronics schematic design; experience with tools like KiCad, Altium Designer, or similar is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
Familiarity with wireless technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa).
Experience with embedded Linux and power electronics.
Knowledge of EMC compliance and designing towards safety standards (UL/IEC/CE).
Experience designing and writing firmware for high-reliability systems.
