We’re looking for bright and driven students and professionals who are excited to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world products used by financial institutions across the country.As an intern within our Software Engineering teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle—from idea to design, build, test, and release. You won’t be fetching coffee or watching from the sidelines. Instead, you’ll work directly with experienced product managers, engineers, designers, QA analysts, and DevOps professionals on meaningful projects that ship to production.This internship is ideal for students exploring early-career paths in software development or quality assurance—and looking to graduate with practical experience, stronger technical and collaboration skills, and a clearer sense of where they want to grow next.Kinective’s internship program spans 12 weeks, beginning June 1, 2025 and concluding August 21, 2025.This is a paid position at $20/hour.Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our headquarters in Gilbert, AZ.How You'll ContributeExecute manual test cases to validate new features, bug fixes, and enhancements across web and/or platform-based applicationsReview product and business requirements to understand expected behavior and identify test scenariosIdentify, document, and track defects and issues in an issue-tracking system (e.g., JIRA) with clear reproduction steps and impactPerform functional, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing (UAT) as part of regular release cyclesRe-test resolved defects to confirm fixes and prevent regressionsCollaborate with QA, Product, and Engineering to clarify requirements, communicate findings, and support timely issue resolutionHelp maintain and improve QA documentation, test cases, and shared knowledge resourcesContribute to ongoing improvements in testing processes, coverage, and quality standardsLearn and apply foundational concepts related to automation, SDLC, and quality best practices (as exposure allows)What You Will GainHands-on experience building and supporting production softwareExposure to modern fintech platforms, APIs, and scalable systemsA clear understanding of how cross-functional product teams operateMentorship from professionals actively working in product, engineering, design, and QAResume-ready experience and tangible work you can talk about in interviewsInsight into early-career paths and growth opportunities within product developmentRequirementsNecessary Qualifications:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)Basic understanding of software testing concepts (manual testing, test cases, defect reporting)Ability to clearly communicate issues in writing with attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset; curious about how systems work (and fail)Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentNice to Have (Not Required)Experience using JIRA or another issue-tracking toolExposure to writing test cases or test scenariosFamiliarity with web applications, APIs, or SaaS platformsIntroductory knowledge of automation tools or scripting (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)Experience working on team-based projects where quality or testing was involved (coursework, internships, personal projects)Why Kinective?We’re transforming our industry.
