About GoodfinGoodfin is an AI-native investment platform for private markets. We structure and manage SPVs that give accredited investors access to pre-IPO and private investment opportunities, with a strong emphasis on transparency, quality, and investor experience.The RoleWe’re looking for an experienced tax professional to support Goodfin’s private investment vehicles, with primary responsibility for SPV tax structuring, K-1 oversight, and QSBS analysis.This role will start as a consulting or part-time engagement, with the opportunity to transition into an in-house role as Goodfin scales and the scope deepens.You’ll work closely with operations, product, and external providers as needed to ensure our tax posture is sound and our investor reporting is clear and correct.What You’ll DoAdvise on tax structuring of SPVs (partnerships, LLCs, blockers where applicable)Review and validate K-1s prepared by our tech, fund administrators or external CPAsEnsure tax allocations align with economics, operating agreements, and waterfallsLead QSBS analysis at the company, deal and SPV level, including eligibility, holding periods, and documentationSupport investor-facing tax questions related to their investments or QSBS, rollovers, and exitsCoordinate with legal counsel and other partners as needed on structuring decisions that impact tax outcomesIdentify tax risks, edge cases, and opportunities as deal volume increasesHelp build scalable tax processes and internal documentationWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of experience in partnership tax, fund tax, or private investment taxDeep expertise in SPVs, partnership allocations, and K-1 reportingDemonstrated experience with QSBS (Section 1202) analysis and structuringExperience preparing and reviewing K-1s Strong judgment and ability to explain complex tax concepts clearlyHigh attention to detail and comfort operating independentlyComfort working cross functionally with business and product teamsBonus: experience working at a startup or with building technical product and being product-mindedEngagement & Growth PathInitial consulting or part-time engagement tied to deal flow and tax cyclesOpportunity to grow into a fractional or full-time in-house tax roleIncreasing scope over time (structuring, policy, investor communications)Why This Role MattersTax reporting is a key investor touchpointQSBS outcomes materially impact investor returnsYou’ll influence how a modern private investing platform is innovating in these categories Rare opportunity to shape tax function early — and potentially own it in-houseIf you’re deeply experienced with SPVs, K-1s, and QSBS — and interested in building something durable and cutting-edge rather than just reviewing returns — we’d love to talk.
