Director of Business Development (Renewable Energy Development) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid Role)About the CompanyOur client is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) developing, financing, constructing, and operating large-scale renewable energy projects and expanding its presence in the U.S. The company follows a full-lifecycle ownership model, providing strong capital backing and long-term platform stability.About the RoleWe are seeking a Director of Business Development to support the company’s growth initiatives across Texas, focused primarily on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects within the ERCOT market.This is a newly created, high-visibility position that will work directly with U.S. leadership to help build and expand the Business Development function. The role is highly hands-on and focused on originating new opportunities while advancing early-stage development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, and originate new utility-scale solar and energy storage opportunities across TexasDevelop and manage landowner relationships and negotiate site control agreementsAssess site feasibility including transmission access, grid capacity, and interconnection strategySupport permitting, environmental studies, and regulatory processesCollaborate with internal engineering, finance, legal, and development teams to advance projects toward development-ready statusSupport offtake strategies and preliminary project economicsCoordinate with external stakeholders including utilities, consultants, and regulatory entitiesManage project timelines, risks, and key deliverables during early-stage developmentQualifications8+ years of experience in renewable energy business development and/or project developmentDemonstrated experience with utility-scale solar and/or BESS projectsExperience working within the ERCOT market strongly preferredBackground in project finance or project economicsExperience with site identification, permitting, interconnection processes, and development workflowsAbility to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Environmental Science, or related fieldWhy This OpportunityOpportunity to help build and shape a growing U.S. renewable energy platformDirect exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-makingFull lifecycle IPP model with long-term project ownershipCollaborative, entrepreneurial team environment
