Job TypePart-timeDescriptionTDI Technologies, Inc. (TDI) is seeking candidates for on-site testing of a rugged laptop set up as a self-contained server with multiple VMs. Each VM pre-loaded with vendor software. Testing will consist of verifying that vendor loaded software interfaces with vendor control equipment and all peripherals recognized (drivers correctly installed and configured). This role may also include development of accompanying documentation and would be performed after testing is complete.Skills And AbilitiesEssential Skills: Familiarity with Windows and Linux Machines In-Depth Operating System Knowledge: The candidate should have a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems, including their architectures, file systems, and system configurations. System Administration Skills: Capable of performing administrative tasks such as user management, system monitoring, and performance tuning. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently. Software Installation and Configuration: Experience in installing and configuring softwareapplications on both Windows and Linux platforms. Various Communication Protocols Networking Knowledge: Proficient in networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, and more. Protocol Analysis: Ability to analyze and troubleshoot communication protocols. Device Integration: Experience in integrating and configuring devices to communicate over various protocols. Virtual Machines (VM) VM Management: Skilled in creating, configuring, and managing virtual machines using tools such as VMware, VirtualBox, or others. Resource Optimization: Ability to optimize VM performance by efficiently allocating resources. Networking in VMs: Understanding of how to set up and manage network configurations within virtual environments. Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Compliance: Familiarity with RMF and its application in securing hardware and software components. Documentation: Ability to document compliance efforts and produce required materials for security assessments. Collaboration: Work effectively with cyber security representatives to ensure all aspects of the hardware and software adhere to security standards.Special RequirementsSuccessful applicants must have an active government security clearance.Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance.
