The organization operates four senior living properties throughout North Carolina and is committed to providing exceptional care and services to seniors.Reporting directly to the Controller, this role has no supervisory responsibilities.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant will support advanced accounting functions including cash accounting, accounts payable, payroll, resident invoicing, and month-end/year-end close activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, performing reconciliations, supporting financial reporting, and improving accounting systems, controls, and workflows.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and GAAPDemonstrated experience with month-end and year-end close processesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with:Fixed asset accountingExpense reportingAccounting principlesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in healthcare, senior living, or long-term care environmentsExperience with payroll processing systems (ADP preferred)Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciationExperience supporting audits and regulatory reportingNon-profit accounting experience preferredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAdvanced knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reportingStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial dataAbility to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize competing responsibilitiesExceptional attention to detail and accuracyAdvanced Excel skills including complex formulas and financial analysisAbility to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teamsStrong professional judgment and discretion with confidential information
