We program, knit, sew, and finish under oneroof. We're a hands-on, growing operation looking for a dependable, self-directed operator to run ourovernight production.Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable flatbed knitting machine operator to run 2nd shift production independently.This role begins with a 2-4 month training period on 1st shift, working directly alongside ourProduction Manager, after which the operator will transition to running overnight production. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for executing the daily knit production plan, maintaining machine performance, finishing knit garments, and preparing them for handoff to the sewing department each morning. This is a position of significant responsibility. We are looking for someone who takes accountability and pride in their work, and who is eager to develop strong technical skills.Key Responsibilities:Production & OutputRun scheduled knit production independently during 2nd shiftMeet daily, weekly, and monthly production quotasOperate multiple Stoll flatbed machines simultaneouslyLog daily output and yarn usage accuratelyPrepare knit pieces for morning handoff to the sewing departmentQuality Control & FinishingQC knit panels and garments as they come off the machinesRemove waste yarn from knit piecesWeave in loose ends on seamless garmentsFlag and document recurring defects or quality issues for the Production ManagerMachine Operation & MaintenancePrepare machines for production runsAddress basic machine errors and troubleshoot common issuesPerform daily cleaning of all machinesCarry out deep cleaning on a specified scheduleEscalate complex technical issues to the Production ManagerCommunication & ReportingReport directly to the Production ManagerLeave clear shift notes documenting output, issues, and machine statusFollow production instructions accuratelyPreferred QualificationsNo prior knitting machine experience is required. We provide full hands-on training. The following are a plus but not necessary to apply:A degree in textiles, knitwear, or a related field with relevant hands-on production experienceExperience operating Stoll flatbed knitting machinesExperience operating Shima Seiki flatbed knitting machines (with willingness to cross-train on Stoll)Strong working knowledge of knitwear construction and stitch typesSolid troubleshooting skills and understanding of flatbed machine maintenanceSkills & AttributesDetail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and efficiencySelf-directed and accountableEager to learn and mechanically inclinedComfortable working independently overnightStrong communication skillsFlexibility to work overtime when production demands require itReliable, punctual, and proactive about raising issues earlyScheduleFirst 2-4 months: 1st shift training alongside the Production ManagerFollowing training: 2nd shift / overnight, independent productionIf you're reliable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn a skilled trade, we encourage you toapply, even without direct knitting experience.
